Aria Visual Studio — photographer at work in natural light

Photography as Presence

I came to photography through a simple belief: the most important thing you can do in a meaningful moment is actually be there. The camera came later. The presence came first.

For the past decade, I've worked alongside families, couples, entrepreneurs, and artists — all of them with something worth preserving. My role is to get out of the way of the moment while still being close enough to catch it when it happens.

I'm based in Nashville and work across the Southeast and beyond. I travel light, shoot quiet, and deliver images that feel more found than made.

The Approach

Natural Light First

I prefer available light whenever possible. It's honest. It's the light your memory will remember when you look back at these images. I carry portable lighting for situations where nature doesn't cooperate — but I always start with what's there.

Small Client List

I take on a limited number of sessions each year. This isn't scarcity marketing — it's how I stay fully present for each client. When you book with me, you're not a transaction. You're a creative collaboration I've said yes to.

Minimal Editing

My editing philosophy is restraint. I enhance what was actually there rather than construct a reality that wasn't. Skin looks like skin. Light looks like light. The editing serves the image — not the other way around.

The Quiet Moments

Anyone can photograph the obvious moments. I work hardest at the ones between — the glance across a room, the hands reaching, the child watching from the corner. These are the images you'll still be looking at in thirty years.
